From February 13 to 16, 2026, Rome hosted students, faculty, and professionals from over 70 international universities for a meeting dedicated to technology, innovation, service-learning, and sustainable development.
Workshops, plenary sessions, field activities, and cultural visits explored the role of engineering and communities in addressing major global challenges.

FEBRUARY 13
The GCSP Global Conference 2026 opened with the Opening Plenary Session, dedicated to the GCSP 2008–2026 program and institutional greetings from Sapienza University and GCSP NAE.
The day continued with workshops on technology, innovation, shared communities, and multiculturalism, along with special sessions dedicated to technological innovation and environmental emergencies, including outdoor activities, service-learning, and cultural visits to Rome.
FEBRUARY 14
The second day explored social, multidisciplinary, and inclusive issues through workshops, working group sessions, and international lectures.
Presentations by J. Santos and J. Blackstock stimulated reflection on the role of engineers in global change, culminating in the final workshop on GC Competencies 2026–2027 and the Closing Ceremony with the GCSP and National Academy of Engineering awards.
FEBRUARY 15
The day in Vatican City brought participants together in St. Peter’s Square for the Angelus with Pope Leo XIV, offering a moment of encounter and sharing in the spiritual and cultural context of the city, followed by a free afternoon in Rome.
FEBRUARY 16
The final day was dedicated to a technical and cultural visit between Rieti and Greccio.
After institutional welcome remarks, participants explored the topic of Renewable Energy Communities and visited the cultural and spiritual community of Greccio, concluding the program with an experience combining innovation, local area, and sustainability.
