The difficulties related to the accessibility to drinking water to the entire world population have gradually become the most important and urgent issues to be addressed globally.

Among the main issues related to the consumption of contaminated water is certainly the transmission of pathogens that affects not only the developing countries with low standards of hygiene but also developed countries.

The link between poverty and water crisis becomes more evident every year.

It’s important to be aware of the fact that in many cases, the technologies developed in industrialized countries are inappropriate for developing countries because of their cost; also the amount of water for which tend to be used is too high for the low consumption of emergency situations and rural locations.

Therefore, the technologies adopted in rural communities and during emergencies must be ready to use easily, low consumption and low cost.

The research and development of CIRPS fit into this context: promotion of projects in developing countries to reduce the spread of infectious diseases related to poor water quality.

The object of these projects is a technology that makes it possible to achieve self-site production of chlorine at low cost for water purification and the hygienic disinfection of food, utensils, clothing, environments, etc.

In addition to eliminating the need to purchase disinfectants, it sensitizes the population on health education.
